Hidaya Hamad, director of the Youth and Volunteers Department in the Gaza Strip, was martyred by the Israeli occupation during the siege of the organisation's headquarters and its "Al-Amal" hospital in Khan Younis. Hidaya was killed when she rushed as usual to rescue wounded refugees after the occupation soldiers opened fire on them. Until her last breath, Hidaya embodied the meanings of sacrifice, humanity and volunteering that she always believed in throughout her life, work and volunteering.
